Toys in the Sun Run
It is true, I've been negligent on posting to the blog. A quick update on tomorrow's activity. If you haven't done it yet, you need to attend the Toys in the Sun Run. This event is actually part of the Ft. Lauderdale Bike Show. While many events go on during the show, nothing exemplifies the true biker community spirit like the Toys in the Sun Run.
Imagine a parade of motorcycles so large that a large section of I-95 and a section of I-595 is shut down for a couple hours allowing bikers to pass. I've heard estimates of 18,000 motorcycles in this charitable event. Every person in the procession must have an unwrapped gift for a child and $10 for the concert at the end of the parade. Part of the money also goes to the charity.
The math is wonderful. If just 2,000 of the bikes have a passenger you've created 20,000 holiday gifts for children. That's impressive.
